Codes of Practice

Mount View Primary School is a community of students, parents and school employees and is linked to local schools and other communities and individuals who are clients, suppliers or stakeholders.

Values

The school has adopted a set of values to guide the conduct and practices of persons who represent the school and which the school fosters in its relationships. They are the basis on which the social competencies of students will be developed. These are:

Care, Acceptance, Respect,
Responsibility, Co-operation and Honesty.

The school places great emphasis on recognition and celebration of achievement by students, staff and involved parents, to foster self-esteem and self-reliance. In particular, the school encourages appropriate expressions of appreciation to school community members for their contributions.

Principles

For several years the school has committed itself to the Principles of Contemporary Quality, which describe our beliefs about how to optimise the learning and management practices of the school. These Principles are:
    1. Clear direction allows organisational alignment and a focus on the achievement of goals.
    2. Mutually agreed plans translate organisational direction into actions.
    3. Quality and value are defined by the client.
    4. To improve the outcome, improve the system and its associated processes.
    5. All people work in a system; outcomes are improved when people work on the system.
    6. Effective use of facts, data and knowledge leads to improved decisions.
    7. All systems and processes exhibit variability, which impacts on predictability and performance.
    8. The potential of an organisation is realised through its peoples enthusiasm, resourcefulness and participation.
    9. Continual improvement and innovation depend on continual learning.
    10. The organisations actions to ensure a clean, safe, fair and prosperous society enhance the perception of its value to the community.
    11. Sustainability is determined by an organisationsns ability to create and deliver value for allstakeholders.
    12. Senior leaderships constant role modelling of these principles and creation of a supportive environment are necessary for the organisation to reach its potential.
